Are you currently planning to level up to a reliable cameraphone to get you started on your new mobile photography journey but PHP 15,000 is all you can spend on it?

Well, there are a few great 2019 Android smartphones models to choose from and this model right here is certainly one of them.

Aside from having an extra-large, notch-less, and near-bezel-less display as smoldering good looks, the Vivo V15 also sports a reliable Triple Rear Camera module and an ultra-high-resolution front facing camera to make a viable alternative to a point-and-shoot camera.

Here are the technical specifications of these shooters:

AI Triple Rear Camera Module:
12 MegaPixels, f/1.8 Aperture, Phase Detection AutoFocus
8 MegaPixels, f/2.2, 13mm, Ultra-Wide Lens
5 MegaPixels, f/2.4, Depth Sensor enabling Bokeh or Shallow Depth of Field Effect

Elevating Front-Facing Camera:
32 MegaPixels, f/2.0 Aperture

Now, if you're wondering how well these snappers perform, allow me to give you some sample photos that I took using all of them when I was at Luneta Park in my hometown Metro Manila last week.

I captured this photo of flowers using the primary 12MP f/1.8 rear camera and I think it's nice that I was able to get a good background separation even without using Bokeh Effect.

Using the tertiary depth camera, I was able to get an even shallower depth of field to isolate the subject even further. This was the maximum blur that I got by tweaking the settings.

The secondary 8 MegaPixel f/2.2 camera at the back has an equivalent 13mm ultra-wide lens that lets you capture more of the scene in front of you, which is ideal for shooting landscape or group shots.

Set 1a

I took this photo using the primary cam with standard field of view.

On the other hand, I snapped this one using the secondary wide-angle cam, giving me more of the scene in front of me without having to take several steps back.

Set 2a

Again, this was shot using the primary cam.

Using the wide-angle shooter, I was able to capture the entire facade of the National Museum of Natural History without changing my position.

Another useful imaging feature of the Vivo V15 is Super Night Mode that lets you take clear, crisp, and brilliant images even in settings with very little ambient light. It's like taking a long-exposure shot to take in as much light as possible - handheld!

Set 1b

As you can see, this photo of the Rizal Monument that I shot using the main rear camera is already quite clear for a night photo.

Turning on Super Night Mode, though, I was able to get better dynamic range and even sharper details. The differences are subtle but as a whole, they make for a better photo.

Set 2b

Again, the primary camera delivered a good photo despite having little light to work with.

But with Super Night Mode, you definitely get better contrast and more vibrant hues. Just look at the finer details on the sculpture and the greener grass.

If you enjoy taking food photos, I'm sure that you will find Vivo V15 as a very reliable cameraphone to get the job done. Even before post processing, food shots taken using the device's main rear camera look downright appetizing and mouth-watering. You can even add Bokeh Effect to the images to make them even more visually pleasing.

As I've shared, Vivo V15 features a whopping 32 MegaPixel front-facing camera housed in motorized elevating mechanism, which the company added to this model to altogether remove the notch on the display.

This camera delivers selfies with stunning details and color brilliance -- day and night, outdoors or indoors.

One thing to note, though, is that Vivo's AI Beauty software can be a tad aggressive in removing skin imperfections, which can deliver an overly-made-up look.

But what's good is that the camera is smart enough to isolate the subject from the background to enable Portrait Mode, which is Vivo's Bokeh Effect for selfies.

As you can see, you may even choose from various lighting modes that allow you to manipulate how your selfie's background will look. Here, I chose monochrome, which instantly turned everything behind me black-and-white. Yes, the edges are not that clean but I think the overall shot looks good enough for sharing on social media.

The selfie cam also has a wide-angle mode that you can turn on to include your friends and loved ones in the shot.

To wrap up, let me share with you two more photos of the lobby of the Makati Shangri-La Hotel that I snapped using my Vivo V15 last week. The first one was taken using the 12 MP f/1.8 primary rear cam and the second was shot using the 8MP f/2.2 wide angle camera. I think both of them look stunning; A testament to what Vivo V15 can do as a cameraphone.

Vivo V15 is available across the Philippines for a promo price of PHP 14,999 throughout August 2019. This best-selling midrange Android smartphone is out in three classy and elegant colors, namely, Topaz Blue, Glamour Red, and Blossom Pink.
