Apple iPhone 11 Philippines Price and Release Date Guesstimate, Specs, Features

I've just finished watching the Youtube livestream of Apple's Keynote for their upcoming products this Q3 and Q4 2019.
Before clicking on the video, I honestly prepared myself to be bored and disappointed once again in the new iPhones presentation -- as I had been in the past three years.
Surprisingly, though, I actually liked what I saw. Heck, I've been let down by Apple so many times in the past that I find this feeling quite odd.
In particular, I found the Apple iPhone 11 very interesting. I mean, not only is it coming in more affordable than its direct predecessor from 2018 - the Apple iPhone XR - but also comes with several neat enhancements across the board that I've long been wanting for the company to implement on their handsets.
In terms of raw power and gaming performance, as expected, Apple iPhone 11 tops the charts with its Apple A13 Bionic chipset that doesn't only excel in machine learning but is also very energy efficient.
This has always been the primary strength of Apple iPhone models and it's nice to see that the Cupertino company is not resting on its laurels in this department.
As a budding mobile photographer and growing Youtube content creator, the Apple iPhone 11 feature that I found most impressive - based on the presentation - would have to be the cameras.
Definitely a better cameraphone than Apple iPhone XR, which only has one shooter at the back, the Apple iPhone 11 has a Dual Rear Camera module made up of a 12 MegaPixel f/1.8 shooter with standard wide lens and a secondary 12 MP snapper with 120 degrees ultra-wide field of view.
These two cameras allow for more creativity and flexibility when taking photos. The ultra-wide angle cam is also particularly useful when taking landscape and group shots.
What's even more amazing is that you can also use both camera for taking videos up 4K 60fps with extended dynamic range and cinematic stabilization. The revamped camera application even lets you shift from one camera to the next with utter ease.
The rear imaging set-up also benefits from Night Mode, which lets you take clear and vibrant photos even in situation when there's very little ambient light. This is a product of Apple's improved computational imaging technology for the iPhone.
Those who love using their smartphones' selfie camera to take photos and videos will be glad to know that the Apple iPhone 11 dons the best front-facing snapper of any iPhone released so far.
Not only does the front-cam let you include more people in your shots and add portrait lighting to your selfies but also allows you record videos at up to 4K 60fps with cinematic stabilization, which is a big deal for vloggers and Youtube content creators! That's my favorite thing about it, actually. Great job, Apple!
The front-cam also has this Slofie or slow motion video feature -- but off hand, I am not so keen on trying that one out. I find it rather gimmicky.
What about battery life, you ask?
Well, the 2018 Apple iPhone XR already had the longest uptime of any iPhone in history and according to the company, its follow-up will offer an additional hour of use on a full charge. Not bad -- but I hope Apple would just give their future handsets bigger batteries since it all starts from there. I mean, compared to what's out there, the 3,110 mAh pack of the Apple iPhone 11 is still rather small.
Now, as for the device's design and exterior, Apple says that the iPhone 11 sports the toughest glass face on a smartphone and it flaunts a more durable 7000 Series aluminum unibody shell.
This enclosure is IP68 Water and Dust Resistant, which means that it is protected against water ingress when the phone is submerged in 1.5 meters of liquid for up to 30 minutes. I'd say this protection is more for accidental splashes than for underwater photography or videography. If you're into those things, I would suggest that you get a waterproof case for the handset.
Apple iPhone 11 price starts at $699 USD for the 64GB ROM version and goes as high as $845 USD for the 256GB variant. This model is out in six colors, namely, White, Red, Yellow, Black, Green, and Purple.
When will Apple iPhone 11 be out in the Philippines and how much will all its variants be locally?
As of writing, we have yet to receive official word from Apple on this model's availability in our country. Looking back at the Apple iPhone XR, though, I would say that this iteration should land here come the last week of October 2019 via Apple's network carriers and authorized retail channels in the Philippines. As for the prices, my guesstimate would be around PHP 40,000 to PHP 55,000 for all three versions. Kindly stay tuned for updates!
